CTD Busts Terror Cell in Punjab

CTD Arrests Multiple Terror Suspects Across Punjab, Recovers Explosives and Materials

Punjab – In a major security operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested dozens of terror suspects from multiple cities across the province. According to a spokesperson, the arrests included 14 individuals each from Lahore and Rawalpindi, 7 each from Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, 6 from Jhang, 6 from Sargodha, 5 from Sahiwal, 4 from Gujranwala, and 3 from Gujrat.

During these operations, the CTD recovered explosives, 85 detonators, 183 feet of wire, and 717 pamphlets. Authorities also seized mobile phones, cash, Prima cards, and other sensitive materials from the suspects.

The spokesperson stated that the arrested individuals were reportedly planning attacks at various locations with the intent of spreading fear and panic among the public.

In addition to targeted raids, the CTD carried out 13,521 combing operations during the same period, detaining 1,131 individuals for questioning. Overall, law enforcement officials interrogated more than 552,000 people across Punjab as part of their counter-terrorism efforts.
