Punjab Flash Flood Alert as Monsoon Rains Hit Multiple Cities

Heavy Monsoon Rains Forecast for Punjab, Flash Flood Warning Issued

LAHORE — The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of strong monsoon rains in several Punjab districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujranwala.

Rain is also expected in Lahore, Gujrat, Sialkot, and other cities over the coming days.

Between September 7 and 9, authorities caution that there is a risk of flash flooding in Dera Ghazi Khan. Commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab have been instructed to remain on high alert and implement precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, most parts of the country are likely to experience hot and dry conditions over the next 12 hours. However, scattered rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in southeast Sindh, southeast Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
