Punjab Launches Green E-Taxi Scheme 2025 to Empower Youth and Cut Pollution
Lahore — The Punjab government has launched the Green E-Taxi Scheme 2025, a flagship program designed to provide unemployed youth with affordable electric and hybrid taxis through interest-free instalments. The initiative not only seeks to generate employment but also supports a cleaner, pollution-free environment.
In the first phase, 1,100 electric taxis will be distributed across the province, including 30 vehicles reserved exclusively for women drivers. The scheme is being spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has described it as a step toward “both livelihood creation and environmental protection.”
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Be a Pakistani citizen with a Punjab domicile.
Fall within the 21 to 45 years age bracket.
Hold a valid CNIC and driving license.
Belong to a low-income group (those with high earnings or criminal records may be disqualified).

Recent passport-sized photograph.
Proof of residence (domicile certificate or utility bill).

NTN or business credentials (for applicants seeking multiple vehicles).

Register through the official portal with CNIC and mobile number.
Verify details via OTP.
Select city and vehicle type (electric or hybrid).
Upload documents.
After approval, complete banking formalities and receive a delivery schedule.
The government has advised applicants to apply quickly, as the final deadline will be announced on the official portal.

The scheme promises affordable down payments, easy monthly instalments, and full ownership once payments are completed. Exact figures will be shared at the scheme’s formal launch.
