Punjab Rescue Saves Puppies from Ravi Flood

Three Puppies Rescued from Flooded Ravi River by Punjab Rescue Teams

Punjab – In a heartwarming rescue operation, three puppies were saved from an islet in the middle of the Ravi River after concerned citizens reported unusual activity at the Saggian Ravi Bridge flood relief camp.

Officials say rescue teams were quickly dispatched by boat to investigate the spot. “As seen in the video, the mound was barely above water,” said Punjab Rescue 1122 spokesperson Farooq Ahmed. “Our teams reached the location and found three stranded puppies. They were carefully lifted onto the boat and brought to safety before being handed over to nearby residents.”

Farooq explained that this part of the Ravi River usually remains dry, allowing stray animals to roam freely. “During heavy rains or when water is released from upstream, this area gets flooded, trapping the animals,” he added.

Rescue 1122 has mobilized 650 boats across Punjab, rescuing more than 30,000 people on Thursday from flood-affected areas. Relief operations are continuing around the clock.

The puppy rescue drew widespread praise on social media, with users applauding the dedication and compassion of the rescue teams for saving the lives of the helpless animals.
