Quinton de Kock Set for ODI Comeback as South Africa Tours Pakistan

South African cricket fans have reason to cheer as Quinton de Kock is set to make a much-anticipated return to ODI cricket. The experienced left-hander has been named in both the ODI and T20I squads for the Proteas’ upcoming tour of Pakistan next month.

De Kock, 32, had stepped away from Test cricket in 2021 and retired from ODIs following the 2023 World Cup. However, he never officially announced a full international retirement.

In recent months, de Kock held discussions with Cricket South Africa’s Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, about a potential return to the ODI format. Those talks have now borne fruit, with de Kock ready to take the field once again during South Africa’s challenging tour of Pakistan.
