Two Brothers Killed in Raiwind Over Rs30 Dispute; Two More Shot Dead in Gujrat Cricket Clash
Lahore/Gujrat – In a tragic turn of events, two brothers lost their lives in Raiwind, Lahore, after a minor dispute with fruit vendors spiraled into deadly violence.
According to police, Wajid and Rashid had purchased bananas for Rs130 but only had a Rs100 note and a Rs5,000 note. A quarrel broke out when they asked for a change of Rs30. The argument quickly escalated as the fruit seller called his associates, who attacked the brothers with brute force.
Despite several bystanders witnessing the assault, no one stepped forward to help. Many onlookers instead filmed the incident on their phones. Eyewitnesses alleged the fight dragged on for hours before police arrived, by which time the brothers had succumbed to their injuries.
In another shocking incident in Gujarat, a cricket match turned deadly after an argument over bowling rights. Police said the accused opened fire on team captain Fakhar Iqbal and his brother, killing both on the spot and injuring their uncle. The suspect has been arrested, and a case has been registered.
Both tragedies underline the rising wave of anger and intolerance in society. Experts stress that parents and teachers must play a vital role in guiding the younger generation toward patience, respect, and peaceful conflict resolution.
“Our religion, Islam, emphasizes patience and peace,” experts noted. “Parents should be cautious not to raise children with unchecked aggression, where a trivial matter like Rs30 could end in bloodshed.”
