Red Sox Top Orioles 5-0 as Giolito Story Shine
Red Sox Power Past Orioles Behind Giolito’s Gem
BALTIMORE – Trevor Story and David Hamilton each homered off Kyle Bradish as the Boston Red Sox blanked the Baltimore Orioles 5-0 on Tuesday night, extending their winning streak to five victories in the last six games.
Story opened the scoring with his 21st homer of the season—and the 200th of his career—in the second inning. Hamilton followed an inning later with his fourth long ball before adding a two-run double in the ninth, finishing with three RBIs on the night. Roman Anthony, Hamilton, and Story all collected two hits apiece for Boston.
On the mound, Lucas Giolito (9-2) delivered a dominant performance, scattering four hits across 7 2/3 innings. He struck out eight, walked one, and threw 104 pitches before leaving to a standing ovation. Justin Wilson handled the ninth to seal the shutout, working around a pair of Baltimore singles.
Bradish (0-1), making his first big league start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2024, struck out 10 batters in six innings without allowing a walk. His only blemishes came on the two solo homers from Story and Hamilton.
The Orioles, now losers in five of their last six games, managed just four hits on the night, two of them from catcher Alex Jackson. Their lone run-scoring chance came in the eighth, when a Carlos Narvaez grounder cut the deficit to 3-0 before Boston pulled away late.
The series continues with two games remaining at Camden Yards. Baltimore had swept a quick two-game set at Fenway Park last week, but now faces pressure to avoid another home series loss.
