Sanam Javed Gets Bail from Lahore High Court
Justice Farooq Haider, a judge of the Lahore High Court, gave bail to Sanam Javed. She was released after paying a surety bond of Rs500,000.
Earlier this month, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Sanam Javed. They said she was spreading content that goes against the country’s interests.
The FIA in Lahore had filed a case against her under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code.
CM Gandapur Asks Supreme Court to Meet Imran Khan
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur went to the Supreme Court on Wednesday. He asked for permission to meet Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, who is currently in Adiala Jail.
Gandapur said he wants to meet Imran Khan once a week. He said these meetings are important so they can discuss the 2025–26 provincial budget and make good plans for the province.
In his request, Gandapur also asked the Supreme Court to make sure that earlier court orders—allowing meetings with Imran Khan—are followed. He said the government is wrongly stopping these meetings.
Gandapur argued that stopping the meetings goes against the Constitution, especially Articles 9, 10A, and 19, which protect personal freedom, fair trial, and freedom of speech.
