Senate Elections 2021: Scheduled from March 3

The Election Commission of Pakistan started from today (Friday) the process of receiving nomination papers for the Senate elections; expected on the third of next month.

According to the details; the candidates can submit their nomination papers with the relevant returning officers by tomorrow (Saturday)for the Senate Election.

Senate Election Schedule

Also, According to the Senate election schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the scrutiny of nomination papers will hold on Monday and Tuesday next.

These appeals will dispose of on the 19th and 20th of this month.

The revised list of candidates will publish on the 21st of this month.
The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers on the 22nd of this month.

In fact, The candidates can file appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers; on the 17th and 18th of this month.

Also, A total of 48 senators will be elected this time including twelve each from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan; eleven each from Punjab and Sindh, and two from Islamabad.

Moreover, Over 65 percent; of the senators who are set to retire on March 11 after completing their six-year constitutio­nal term belong to the opposition parties.

Finally, The polling for the Senate election will take place on March 3, 2021. Through a notification; issued here, the ECP has called upon the members of the National Assembly to elect members of the Senate against one general seat and one women seat for Islamabad for senate election

Whereas, It should be noted the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the presidential reference; seeking an opinion on open balloting for the upcoming Senate elections till Monday.
