TV Anchor Shabana Liaquat and Family Missing After Flash Flood in Babusar
DIAMER – A tragic incident occurred on July 22, 2025, when flash floods hit the Babusar road, sweeping away at least 15 people. So far, seven bodies have been found, and eight people are still missing.
Among the missing are Shabana Liaquat, a well-known TV anchor from a private news channel, her husband Liaquat, and their four children. Their car and personal items were found in the flood-hit area. Identity documents helped confirm their names.
The Deputy Commissioner of Diamer said the family is from Nowshera. Search and rescue teams, with help from sniffer dogs and drones, are working hard to find the remaining missing people.
Officials are continuing the rescue mission and hope to find more survivors soon.
