PM Shehbaz to Raise Kashmir, Palestine at UN General Assembly
NEW YORK – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will use his address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to spotlight Pakistan’s stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, the plight of Palestinians, and other pressing global issues.
According to officials, the prime minister will urge the international community to take decisive steps to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for justice and relief for the Palestinian people. He is also expected to share Pakistan’s perspective on regional security, climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, and sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, PM Shehbaz will join a select group of Islamic leaders in a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump to exchange views on regional and international peace and security.
The prime minister’s schedule also includes participation in several high-level events, including a UN Security Council meeting, the Global Development Initiative forum, and a special event on climate action.
In addition, Shehbaz Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with world leaders and senior UN officials to discuss matters of mutual interest and cooperation.
