PM Shehbaz seeks $10 billion in agreements between Pakistan and Kuwait “premature implemented”
On Tuesday, Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, advocated for the execution of $10 billion in bilateral agreements signed in November of last year between Kuwait and Pakistan.
During a meeting with Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, the ambassador of Kuwait to Pakistan, the premier spoke about bilateral relations and urged both parties to work together to guarantee the prompt execution of seven agreements.
According to a statement released by the PM Office, the premier expressed happiness that both nations had inked seven agreements for collaboration in a variety of fields, including technology, mangrove restoration, water supply, mining and minerals, food security, and hydropower.
He emphasized, in this regard, the function of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which offered a reliable and effective means of luring international investment into Pakistan.
According to him, Pakistan placed a high value on its longstanding and close relations with Kuwait.
He expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities, particularly Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, for their kind words and congratulations on his reelection.
With an emphasis on commerce and investment, the PM stated that he hoped to collaborate closely with them to further solidify the two countries’ relationship.
He also invited the Amir of Kuwait to come to Pakistan as soon as it would be convenient for him.
The envoy of Kuwait expressed gratitude to Pakistan for helping Kuwait through hard times.
He expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for his vocal advocacy of Kuwait’s independence and sovereignty throughout the crises of 1990–1991.
Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation for Pakistan’s assistance to Kuwait throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
Kuwait strong commitment to forging better ties with Pakistan was reiterated by the ambassador.
