Shraddha Kapoor Reveals Chhoti Stree

Shraddha Kapoor Unveils First Animated Film of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe

Mumbai – The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) is expanding into animation. At the trailer launch of Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, Shraddha Kapoor, who plays the franchise’s most iconic character ‘Stree’, unveiled the official MHCU logo and confirmed the studio’s first animated feature.

The film, titled Chhoti Stree, will be a spinoff based on Kapoor’s character. “This is my most favourite part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe,” Kapoor said at the event. “Chhoti Stree will be an animated film for kids, families – actually, for everyone. It’ll be a total dhamaal in theatres.”

Kapoor also praised producer Dinesh Vijan, joking, “When Dinoo told me about it, I said, ‘Sach mein, aapka naam Dinesh Vision hi hona chahiye.’ It feels amazing to be part of this universe.”

Co-creator Dinesh Vijan revealed that the animated feature has been conceptualised by Amar Kaushik and Niren Bhatt. “The unique thing about Chhoti Stree is that it will end with a scene from Stree 3. The film will shift from animation to live-action, creating a direct link,” he said. “It will also reveal the backstory of Stree and release six months before Stree 3.”

The much-awaited Stree 3, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is set to hit theatres in early 2028.
