CM Sindh Reviews Wheat Stock Availability, Calls for Price Monitoring
KARACHI – Chief Minister Sindh presided over a meeting to review the availability of wheat stocks in the province.
During the meeting, he noted that the combined monthly requirement for Sindh and Balochistan stands at around 400,000 tonnes. Officials briefed the CM that approximately 600,000 tonnes of wheat are currently available in the market. “Wheat stocks in the province are sufficient to meet demand up to February 2026,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that the new wheat crop is expected to arrive in March. Emphasizing the importance of strategic reserves, he directed officials to make timely arrangements for stock management.
He also instructed the preparation of a wheat release policy to be submitted for government approval. Additionally, the CM called for strict monitoring of wheat flour prices to ensure stability in the market, given the available stock.
