Sindh Weather Alert Hot Days Ahead Depression Forms South of Karachi
Hot Weather in Sindh; Depression Forms South of Karachi
KARACHI, Sindh — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather across most districts of Sindh. However, parts of the province, including Karachi, Badin, Sujawal, and Thatta, may experience partly cloudy skies with occasional rain, winds, or thundershowers.
“Overall, conditions in Sindh are expected to remain predominantly hot and dry,” the PMD said.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea has intensified into a depression, now located approximately 440 kilometers south of Karachi, according to the Met Office on Thursday.
The department has warned of high waves and rough seas along Sindh’s coastal belt, with winds expected to reach 45 to 55 kilometers per hour. Fishermen have been strictly advised against venturing into deep waters until October 3. Local authorities, including deputy commissioners, have been instructed to remain alert and implement precautionary measures.
The country is currently preparing for an unusual extension of monsoon conditions, as two major weather systems—one from the Arabian Sea and another from the Bay of Bengal—converge. This could bring widespread rains, thunderstorms, and potentially cyclone-like conditions to various parts of Pakistan.
