Sindh Colleges Warn Teachers
Sindh Colleges Warn Teachers Against Unnecessary Leave
KARACHI – The Sindh Department of Colleges has sent a warning to college teachers for taking too much leave during the academic term.
In a new circular, the Secretary of Colleges said that too many leave applications are hurting the learning process. The notice said teachers should plan their matters during winter vacations instead of during classes.
From now on, only important leave—such as for health problems, maternity, Iddat, or serious emergencies—will be allowed. All college principals and regional directors have been told to carefully check every leave request.
The department reminded staff that the new academic session will begin on August 1, 2025, and that regular classes must continue without disturbance.
Sindh Govt Cracks Down on 5000 ‘Ghost Teachers’
Last year, the Education Department also ordered that salaries be stopped for over 1,000 teachers who were not attending duty. A special committee found that these teachers were absent from work in October 2025. The inquiry was part of an investigation into complaints about “ghost teachers” across Sindh.
