Sindh Plans New Steps to Boost Wheat Production
KARACHI – A top-level meeting was held in Sindh to talk about the wheat situation in the province. The meeting was led by Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Haider Shah. Officials discussed wheat stocks, how much wheat is used every year, and updates on the wheat crop.
According to Food Secretary Abdul Jabbar Khan, the Sindh Food Department has 1.392 million metric tons of wheat in its storage. In addition, private flour mills and other businesses have 2.2 million metric tons more.
Chief Secretary Shah ordered all departments to quickly finish a full survey of wheat stocks in the province. He also said that satellite images will be used to check wheat fields and help the government make smart decisions based on accurate data.
He shared the Chief Minister’s message that farmers will be given good-quality seeds, fertilizers, and modern machinery to grow more wheat. The government will focus on providing certified wheat seeds, urea, and farming tools.
A new pricing system for wheat will also be made to motivate farmers to grow more. The Chief Secretary said that the goal is to increase wheat production and make sure there is enough food for everyone.
