Sindh Launches Online Registration for Women Industrial Workers’ Driving License Program
KARACHI — Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thaheem announced that the registration process for women industrial workers to obtain driving licenses has officially begun.
Eligible women can apply online through the official Workers Welfare Board website: www.wwbsindh.gov.pk
. The selection process will be conducted digitally to ensure full transparency, eliminating any possibility of human interference.
Who Can Apply:
Women industrial workers up to 45 years of age.
A 20% quota has been reserved for minority women.
Successful applicants will have 60 days to obtain their driving licenses.
“Women make up half the population. No country can progress without empowering its women,” Shahid Thaheem said, highlighting the program’s focus on boosting mobility and economic empowerment for working women, especially in the industrial sector.
Earlier, Workers Welfare Board Sindh Secretary Rafiq Qureshi shared that, following directives from Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the death grant has been raised from Rs700,000 to Rs1 million, while the marriage grant has been increased from Rs300,000 to Rs500,000.
“These steps are a new hope for workers and their families,” Qureshi said, adding that the measures aim not only to improve living standards but also to support sustainable development in education, housing, health, and energy sectors.
