Cristiano Ronaldo will receive millions from Juventus following his victory in court
Following a legal struggle over unpaid wages during the COVID-19 epidemic, the Court of Arbitration on Wednesday ordered Cristiano Ronaldo’s former club Juventus to pay him €9 million after taxes.
According to Goal, Juventus players decided to postpone their wages by four months in March 2020 and April 2021 since the team was having financial issues at the time.
But there were also private deals reached with squad members.
Ronaldo, 39, has asked for “salary manoeuvres,” or postponed compensation, totaling $21.3 million.
The Italian Serie A team was defeated by the Al Nassr star, according to La Gazzette dello Sport.
The article claims that Juventus did not set aside money for the payment, and it is unclear if other players would follow Ronaldo’s lead. If so, the team may suffer a great deal financially.
Paulo Dybala, the striker for Roma, and Juventus came to an arrangement in 2023 on the same matter, with Dybala receiving almost $3.2 million in unpaid salaries.
After leaving Real Madrid in 2018, the player made 134 appearances across all competitions and scored 101 goals.
Juventus will have to accept this legal setback, but on Friday, Ronaldo Al-Nassr team plays Al Feiha in the Saudi Pro League. On April 27, they go to Al Khaleej.
