Cristiano Ronaldo’s record is matched by Kylan Mbappe, who is still ahead of Lionel Messi
Kylian Mbappe, a great player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is aiming to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo’s records in soccer. On Thursday, the Ligue 1 team located in Paris defeated Olympique de Marseille 2-0.
According to Marca, Mbappe, a huge Real Madrid supporter, is on track to tie Ronaldo’s record for the longest streak of victories in his career against a particular side after Thursday’s game.
In an amazing coincidence where both players won 14 games and drew two, the French international equaled Ronaldo’s record against Espanyol by going 16 games without losing against the Marseille squad.
Legendary Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi has also been overshadowed by both players. Messi has 11 victories over Racing Santander and, like the French and Portuguese players, has drawn twice while being unbeaten for just 13 games.
All three of the football players also have the trait of being unbeaten against four teams they have played against in more than ten of their career games.
Teams that never beat Cristiano Ronaldo
Espanyol (14 wins and two draws)
Newcastle (11 and 3)
Bolton (9 and 1)
Deportivo La Coruna (9 and 1)
Teams that never beat Kylian Mbappe
Olympique de Marseille (14 wins and two draws)
Montpellier (14 and 1)
St.-Ettiene (9 and 3)
Brest (9 and 1)
The most obvious disparity between the three is that Messi and Mbappe have a record of outscoring their opponents in all of their games, something Ronaldo does not.
Ronaldo’s record against Messi’s Barcelona is more defeats (15) than triumphs (10).
