Punjab Police see Shadab Khan as a "joint"

Shadab Khan, an all-rounder for Pakistan, joined a law enforcement agency (LEA) on Wednesday, becoming the most recent cricket player to do so.

Shadab joined the Punjab Police after being given the honorary title of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the province’s senior police officer, Dr. Usman Anwar, according to a statement issued by the police on X, formerly Twitter.

Shadab has been named the brand ambassador for the provincial police, according to the announcement. It further stated that he was also briefed on the operations of various departments after his appointment.

Shadab responded to the news by expressing his excitement at joining the provincial police force.

“Being named a brand ambassador by Punjab IG is an honor for me. Being a member of Punjab Police makes me very happy,” he continued.

Shadab has been taking it easy since he got hurt. Chief Selector Wahab Riaz had declared in a news conference the day before that he will not be included in the T20I team for the series against New Zealand.

“One of the key players for Pakistan in T20 cricket is Shadab Khan. Regretfully, he sustained an ankle injury [during the National T20] and needs two more weeks of physical therapy. He’ll be available to bowl after that.

The fact that Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, two pacers, have also been granted honorary police titles is insignificant.
