What makes Caitlin Clark more well-liked than other WNBA players?
New information regarding the factors that contribute to the WNBA player Caitlin Clark’s immense popularity among basketball fans was disclosed by an American journalist and lawyer.
Sunny Hostin, 22, a former Iowa forward, referred to the White and small-minded privilege that aided in his ascent to fame during an appearance on an ABC News chat show.
The co-host of the outlet’s program The View said, “I do think that there is a thing called pretty privilege,” in reference to the WNBA. A concept known as “White privilege” exists. We have to admit that tall privilege exists, and that race plays a role in it. For example, consider the Britney Griners of the world—why did she have to travel to Russia to play? Because they wouldn’t pay her.”
The 55-year-old attorney previously said that Caitlin Clark’s efforts to give the WNBA some much-needed attention were perfectly acceptable to her.
Hostin stated: “We believe that Caitlin Clark’s introduction of funds and sponsorships would benefit other players in the league. However, I do believe that because she is White and handsome, she is more relatable to a wider audience.”
During the conversation, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin insisted that the reason she started watching the WNBA was because the player was “so fun to watch,” having nothing to do with her skin tone.
Clark just agreed to a massive $28 million contract with Nike.
The Indiana Fever lost badly last week for the fourth time in a row. At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, they were defeated 88-84 by Connecticut Sun in their most recent match.
