T20 World Cup 2026 Dates Finalized by ICC
ICC Confirms Window for 2026 T20 World Cup
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set the window from February 7 to March 8, 2026, for the next edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The month-long tournament will feature 55 matches across seven venues—five in India and two in Sri Lanka. The final venue, however, will depend on Pakistan’s progress in the competition. If Pakistan reaches the final, the game will be played in Colombo; otherwise, Ahmedabad is expected to host the showdown.
A total of 20 teams will participate, with 15 already confirmed: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, and Italy. The remaining five spots will be filled through qualifiers—two from Africa and three from Asia and the East Asia Pacific.
The tournament will follow the same format as the 2024 T20 World Cup, which was staged in the West Indies and the USA. Teams will be divided into four groups of five, with the top two from each advancing to the Super Eight stage. From there, the top two sides in each group will progress to the semi-finals, leading to the grand finale.
