Taylor Swifts Showgirl Album Inspiration
Taylor Swift Shares Inspiration Behind Showgirl-Themed Album and Artwork
Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift recently opened up about the inspiration behind her upcoming album and its luxurious artwork during a conversation on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, with his brother Jason.
In an Instagram video, Swift explained that the album draws from the glamorous world of a showgirl. “We wanted this album to feel really luxurious, as a nod to the luxury a showgirl puts on when she’s onstage — while she’s in the quick-change room,” she said.
She also spoke about the time and effort that went into the album’s physical presentation. “Maybe that’s just me, I don’t know. The vinyl packaging, the CD packaging, the photographs, the photo cards — it’s all something I’m very proud of,” Swift shared. “It took a lot of time, concentration, and organisation… I really spent a lot of time figuring out how to make the best vinyl product and packaging.”
The Lover hitmaker added, “But hopefully it pays off. I hope the fans are happy.”
The 12-track, showgirl-themed album features rising star Sabrina Carpenter on the title track and is scheduled for release on October 3. Fans who pre-order the album can expect their copies to be shipped before October 13.
