Umrah Made Easy for GCC Residents via Nusuk App

Umrah Made Easy for GCC Residents via Nusuk App

GCC Residents Can Now Easily Do Umrah in Saudi Arabia

People living in Gulf countries (GCC) can now enter Saudi Arabia through land, air, or sea and do Umrah more easily. They can get the required permits using the Nusuk app.

This decision is meant to make the Umrah process easier and better for all pilgrims.

GCC residents can use different types of visas to do Umrah. These include:

Umrah visa (from the website nusuk.sa)

Transit visa (available through Saudi Airlines and Flynas)

Tourist visa (from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at ksavisa.sa)

To visit the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah, all pilgrims must first get a permit using the Nusuk app, including for Umrah and praying in the Rawdah Al Sharifah at Masjid Nabawi in Madinah.

Saudi Arabia started giving Umrah visas to international pilgrims on June 10, 2025, and began issuing Nusuk permits from June 11, 2025.

The Ministry has also shared important dates for the Umrah season, including deadlines for getting visas and for entering and leaving the country.

Grace Period for Expired Visit Visas

On Friday, Saudi Arabia also announced a 30-day grace period to allow people with expired visit visas to leave the country.

No matter what type of visit visa you have, if it’s expired, you can now fix your status and leave the country without trouble. This is only for people who want to exit Saudi Arabia, not stay longer.

This rule started on June 26, 2025 (1 Muharram 1447 AH). People have 30 days from that date to pay any fees or fines and complete their exit process.
