US to Cooperate with Pakistan’s New Government Regardless of Party: State Department
The US is interested in cooperating with Pakistan’s new government, according to US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. Miller applauded the millions of Pakistanis who cast ballots, emphasizing the participation of women and youth in particular.
He also praised the efforts of the poll workers, journalists, and observers for their conscientious conduct during the election process. Miller stated that the United States is anxiously awaiting the election results to fairly represent the decisions made by the Pakistani people.
Miller also discussed strategies for enhancing commercial and investment ties between the US and Pakistan. He promised that Pakistan would continue to receive assistance from the US to advance its democratic institutions and general democratic advancement.
