Police caught seven alleged drug dealers in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD Police claimed to have arrested a seven-member gang of drug dealers and they recovered more than 21kg heroin from the accused.

According to police sources, a gang of seven drug peddlers were arrested which also included two foreigners, a man and a woman.

Police Details about drug dealers

Police added;

More than 21 kg of heroin, 50 grams of ice and 81 narcotic pills were recovered from the possession of the suspects.

Police further said:

The gang was involved in supplying heroin to foreign countries as well as in Pakistan.

Among the suspects, one woman and four men were allegedly selling drugs within the country, police said.

Police said that the suspects were also guilty of supplying drugs to students of various educational institutions across the country.

Barakahu incident of ANF

Earlier, a soldier of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was martyred.

Two others injured during an operation against drug-peddlers in the Barakahu area of Islamabad.

According to ANF, on a tip-off, the ANF team conducted a targeted raid at a house in Barakahu, over the presence of drug-peddlers.

Seeing the team the criminals opened fire.

As a result, a solder sustained severe bullet injuries and died on the spot, while two cops were also injured in the shootout.

After the shootout, more contingent of police was called in the area.

The smugglers are hiding in a house, said ANF official.

During the search operation for the arrest of the accused:

1. Six persons including Muhammad Faizan

2. An accomplice of the main accused Yasir

Have been arrested.

The horror of drug abuse is not just limited to Pakistan but a global problem.

Many countries have done great work to deal with drug addiction and they have achieved great success.

Each year on June 26, The United Nations International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is celebrated.

The purpose of this is to raise awareness among people about harmful effects of drugs on this society.

So the first step is definitely making young generation to be aware of the problem.

The Pakistani government has begun taking action against drugs and its abuse.

Measures against them are being deployed and drug dealers and pushers are being dealt with increased strictness.

Besides the government, administrations of schools, colleges and universities also carry great responsibility to eradicate the menace of drugs.

Students should undergo medical tests before admissions and any user of drug should be denied admission.

Students should be thoroughly monitored on campuses to check if they are taking drugs.

These little measure may look little, but can go a long way in saving hundreds of students from falling into the abyss of drug abuse.
