Customs collector said the PM did not provide instructions on the Green Channel use to move Pakistanis abroad

PM did not provide instructions on the Green Channel use

In a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a Pakistani-Australian lady expressed her displeasure that customs officers had closed the Green Channel at the Karachi airport for international travelers.

The female traveler said in her letter that the canal closure forced her to wait hours at the customs office.

A customs officer, meanwhile, said that the PM made no instructions about the transportation of Pakistanis outside via the aforementioned method.

According to sources at the Karachi airport, international travelers passing through the Red Channel for customs clearance are those who have limited or dutiable products, while those who do not have any dutiable goods go through the Green Channel.

According to the traveler, she informed the customs officers that the Green Channel service was accessible at all airports following the prime minister’s directive.

She informed the PM, “The customs officials did not give a reasonable answer to my query,” and she insisted that the customs inspector and collector be fired.

Shafiq Latki, the Customs Collector, refuted the claim that the Green Channel had been closed. He said that the woman had been transferred to the Red Channel because, according to regulation, bags belonging to foreign travelers are subject to suspicion checks.

Moreover, he informed that PM Shehbaz has not issued an order for Pakistanis living abroad to be sent via the Green Channel
