On CM Maryam direction, the first flying ambulance service is scheduled to commence

The province has launched its first flying ambulance service, as instructed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. To get ready for the service, the rescue staff has started their training.

This initiative’s main goal is to provide air ambulance services to areas of Punjab that don’t currently have them. At the outset, rescue personnel are going through intense training. The air ambulance service’s aircraft lease has been arranged by the Punjab government.

According to government sources, these aircraft will be essential for the transportation of patients, especially those who have numerous wounds or head injuries that need immediate medical care.

It has been determined that several areas in East and South Punjab do not have enough specialist healthcare facilities. The air ambulance service will be implemented to fill this need, especially in isolated locations like Bhakkar, Mianwali, and Bahawalnagar, among others. These planes will be outfitted with everything needed to enable quick patient transfers, which might end up saving lives.

The Planning and Development Department has given Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an extensive briefing on the project.

In addition, the air ambulance service will be able to pick up patients from freeways, as runways in places like Multan and Lahore would make operations easier. Work is in progress to complete agreements with civil aviation authorities so that these cities may perform emergency landings and safely transfer patients.

Rescue sources claim that this flying ambulance is used for a variety of emergency scenarios. During floods, it can help identify regions that are affected by flooding, making it easier for stranded people to escape, and improving rescue efforts.

It also makes estimates more precise and rescue efforts more efficient in the case of a fire.

According to the post on social networking site X, the first training session for the first air ambulance service in Punjab and Pakistan has begun.
