Diljit Dosanjh Boycotted Ahead of Sardaar Ji 3 Release
An old interview of singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is going viral on the internet. This is happening just before the release of his new film, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, while some Indian film groups are calling for a boycott of the actor and even want the government to cancel his passport.
In the video, Diljit talks about how much he loves music. He says he doesn’t want to become a big Bollywood star and doesn’t need anyone’s approval to make music.
“I don’t want to work in Bollywood. I’m not interested in becoming a big Bollywood star,” he says.
Diljit adds that he will keep making music without asking for permission from anyone.
“No one can stop me from making music. I’ll continue as long as I feel like it, and as long as God allows me to,” he says. “Whether Bollywood gives me work or not doesn’t matter to me.”
Because of a ban on Pakistani artists in India (brought back after a deadly terror attack in April), the makers of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ have decided not to release the film in India. Instead, it will come out overseas, including in Pakistan.
The horror-comedy movie, directed by Amar Hundal, stars Hania Aamir, Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, and Gulshan Grover. It will be released worldwide, except India, on June 27.
