K-P first province to offer UHC for all citizens: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday has congratulated the local authorities; For making the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) first province in Pakistan with Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for all provincial-domiciled citizens.
According to details, the premier has taken to the social-networking website and posted,
“40,000,000 residents covered with free health insurance in the province.”
“Also, Free treatment up to Rs1,000,000 per family per year in over 400 government and private hospitals across Pakistan is offered,” he told.
Moreover, K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that the provision of a free healthcare facility to the masses is a big step; towards achieving the dream of a welfare state; envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Sehat Card Plus scheme would allow:
Over 6.5 million families
40 million citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkwa to get free health facilities up to Rs1 million.
He said that the state of Pakistan wanted to stand behind every segment of society to offer it UHC; simultaneously propel the expansion of healthcare facilities in Punjab and KP.
He also said that; the availability of Sehat Insaf cards to everyone would drive the private sector to set up hospitals.
Last year; the scheme was announced with multiple areas of Kashmir, Panjab and Gilgit Baltistan.
Prime Minister had announced The Sehat Insaf Card scheme last year; The government aims to provide health care benefits to the people under the poverty line with the scheme.
