Pakistan Sends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Amid Rising Tensions

LAHORE — A relief consignment organized by Alkhidmat Foundation has been sent to Gaza, carrying essential supplies including flour, ready-to-eat meals, cooking oil, jam, and fruit cocktails.

The aid was flown from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, via a chartered aircraft, making its way to Gaza through Al Arish, Egypt. The operation was conducted under the directives of the Prime Minister.

A small send-off ceremony was held at the airport, attended by Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, along with officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Alkhidmat Foundation.

Dutch Foreign Minister Resigns Over Gaza Policy

In related international developments, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp resigned from his caretaker government post on Friday, citing disagreement with the government’s stance on Israel’s war in Gaza.

Veldkamp explained to reporters that the cabinet did not support additional measures against Israel regarding Gaza and plans for the occupied West Bank. “I have felt pushback in the cabinet for additional measures,” he said, confirming he would formally submit his resignation.

The Dutch government collapsed on June 3, and the caretaker minority administration is expected to remain in office until a coalition government forms after the October elections, a process that could take months.

Gaza Conflict Intensifies

Meanwhile, Israel has launched a military offensive targeting Gaza City. The campaign aims to relocate civilians to southern areas, dismantle Hamas infrastructure, and apply pressure for the release of hostages.
