Sunita Ahuja Denies Divorce Rumours, Celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with Govinda
Mumbai – Just days after reports surfaced suggesting that Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood star Govinda since 1987, had filed for divorce citing “adultery, cruelty, and desertion,” the celebrity couple appeared together, putting all rumours to rest. The two, who share two children, Tina (Narmada) and Yashvardhan, were seen celebrating the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi as a family.
Speaking to photographers during the celebrations, Ahuja dismissed the speculation. “After seeing us together today, one should be ashamed to even believe these rumours. The way we stood close to each other… do you really think we will ever part ways? Never,” she said.
She also urged fans not to trust unverified reports. “Until and unless we announce anything ourselves, please don’t believe the rumours,” Ahuja added.
The divorce rumours first emerged last week after an Indian publication claimed that Ahuja had filed under sections 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. However, the couple’s joint public appearance suggests that the family remains united.
