Shehbaz Visits Qatar Condemns Israeli Aggression
PM Shehbaz in Qatar to Condemn Israeli Aggression
DOHA – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on Wednesday, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
The visit comes in the wake of Israel’s airstrike on Qatar earlier this week, which targeted Hamas political leaders and drew widespread international condemnation.
During his meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister Shehbaz will strongly denounce Israel’s actions, calling them an unprovoked violation of international law. He will also reaffirm Pakistan’s deep-rooted brotherly ties with Qatar, emphasizing that Islamabad has always stood by Doha in difficult times and will continue to do so.
The two leaders are expected to hold detailed consultations on Israel’s escalating aggression in the region, its attacks on multiple countries, and collective efforts to restore peace and stability in the Middle East.
Pakistan has already moved diplomatically on the issue, joining Algeria and Somalia in requesting an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to address what it termed as “illegal Israeli aggression” against Qatar.
“The situation demands urgent attention,” Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar wrote on X, underscoring Islamabad’s call for the UN to take up the matter without delay.
The prime minister’s visit highlights Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar’s sovereignty and its broader commitment to peace in the region.
