Murad Ali Shah Urges Unity in Flood Relief Efforts

Sindh CM Calls for Unity to Tackle Flood Crisis

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday urged critics to engage in constructive criticism, saying it would help identify and address shortcomings in governance.

Speaking to reporters after paying tribute at Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s Mausoleum on his death anniversary, the chief minister stressed that the ongoing flood crisis could not be handled alone and required a collective national effort.

“Unity is the key to overcoming any challenge,” Shah said, adding that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto had also toured flood-affected areas and highlighted the need to declare agricultural and climate emergencies.

Shah assured that Sindh would fully support all non-controversial water projects aimed at improving the situation.

Later in the day, the chief minister visited Saadi Town and nearby areas through Malir Cantt to review flood damage firsthand. Meeting with residents, he promised swift relief efforts and instructed officials to expedite the drainage of floodwater.

Teams from the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Rescue 1122, and Cantonment authorities have been deployed for dewatering operations in a bid to restore normalcy in submerged neighborhoods.
