KP Police Chief Vows Crackdown
IGP KP Vows Firm Action Against Terrorists in Southern Districts
PESHAWAR – Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Zulfiqar Hameed, has said that security forces are actively curbing terrorist elements across the province, with a special focus on the southern districts.
Speaking to the media, the KP police chief said that law enforcement remains on high alert in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan. “No district poses a challenge to the police. Our forces are ready to respond wherever needed,” he stated.
He added that the presence of terrorists is limited, numbering only a few hundred in most districts. However, he acknowledged that South Waziristan may have a relatively higher concentration of militants.
The IGP further said that highway patrolling has been restored in the southern districts to ensure safe travel for citizens. “Operations are also underway in the mountainous regions of the province to root out remaining threats,” he emphasized.
