Punjab Police Kill Multiple Robbers in CCD Encounters
Multiple Encounters Leave Several Robbers Dead Across Punjab
Punjab – In a series of police encounters over the past few days, several members of notorious criminal gangs were killed during operations carried out by the Counter Crime Department (CCD), authorities confirmed.
Sheikhupura
The deadliest encounter occurred near the Karto stop on the Muridke-Narowal Road in Sheikhupura. Police said a gang was actively looting passersby when a CCD team responded and a shootout broke out, resulting in the deaths of five suspects. Officials recovered a motorcycle and illegal firearms at the scene. According to police, the gang had been linked to multiple cases of robbery, murder, and kidnapping, including the killing of a woman during a robbery.
Shujabad
In Basti Chhaju Shah, Shujabad, an alleged robber, Muhammad Hussain, was killed during an exchange of fire at a police checkpoint. CCD officials reported that Hussain was accidentally shot by his own accomplices, who fled the scene. He was reportedly wanted in several criminal cases.
Lahore
In Lahore’s Factory Area, two suspects, identified as Nafees and Salman, were killed during a shootout. The CCD team was transporting the suspects to Walton Road for recovery operations when their accomplices tried to ambush the police. Both suspects were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
Mailsi
Near Jallah Jeem in Mailsi, four armed robbers opened fire on a CCD patrolling van. One suspect, Zahid Iqbal of Mian Channu, was fatally shot—apparently by his own accomplices. Zahid was wanted in five murder cases and multiple robberies. The other three suspects managed to escape on motorcycles under the cover of darkness.
Multan
The final encounter took place near Tawakkal Town in Multan, where a suspect, Naveed Hussain, was killed during a shootout with CCD personnel. Police said Naveed was involved in over 21 serious criminal cases, including robbery and theft.
Authorities praised the CCD teams for their swift action in tackling organized crime across the province, reinforcing efforts to maintain law and order.
