A batsman from Namibia breaks the record with the fastest-ever men’s T20I century in just 33 balls
In Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket, Namibian player Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton accomplished a great accomplishment by recording the fastest century. In a match against Nepal, he hit his century in just 33 balls, shattering the previous record held by Kushal Malla of Nepal.
This game was one of a series in which the Netherlands played as well. With the support of Loftie-Eaton’s outstanding performance, which featured eight sixes and eleven boundaries, Namibia was able to reach 206/4 in 20 overs.
It’s important to note that Loftie-Eaton set a record in T20I cricket history with his 92 runs scored from boundaries. Even though Malan Kruger scored 59 runs off of 48 balls, Loftie-Eaton’s rapid runs created a difficult goal for Nepal.
Despite having two scorers in Malla (32 runs) and Rohit Paudel (42 runs), Nepal was unable to match Namibia’s total and lost by 20 runs.
The bowlers from Namibia, led by Ruben Trumpelmann (four wickets at 29 runs), made sure Nepal was unable to close the gap. Additionally, Loftie-Eaton, Jan Frylinck, and Bernard Scholtz claimed two wickets apiece to ensure Namibia’s triumph.
