Renowned artist Mahira Khan, who created a significant mark during her time in Bollywood, became the designer’s muse for renowned Indian fashionista Sawan Gandhi in her first exclusive partnership. The renowned actor wore pieces from the designer’s ethereal new Monochromatic Magic collection, which is expected to become the fashion standard for event dress in 2024.

This has been a dream come true for Sawan, who has been a fan of Mahira since watching Humsafar and Raees. “My design aesthetic is always a modern interpretation of classic silhouettes—a vision that is inextricably linked to Mahira’s character. Mahira appears in four monochromatic ensembles for the ad, featuring sarees with elaborate embroidery, an open sherwani jacket over a saree, and an ivory gold lehenga with an embroidered net veil. Sawan Gandhi’s design philosophy is reflected in the blend of traditional silhouettes with modern components, providing a novel take on classic fashion that draws inspiration from all over the world. The collection took more than four months to construct, with hours of hand embroidery put into each outfit. Although the outfits feature the iconic silhouettes and embroidery of Sawan Gandhi, they also have a modern twist that reflects Mahira’s elegance and attractiveness.
