I never wanted my kid to work in show business; Naumaan Ijaz was against Zaviyar doing so
Nauman Ijaz, who has been gracing the screen for over thirty years, aged gracefully as we progressed. Recently, he appeared on Meer Means Business. He talked about his family and career, and how he never considered leaving a legacy. “I did all in my power to keep my son out of the media. In our field, surviving is no joke. You must engage in combat. My son woke up one fine morning and declared, “This is what I want to do.” I had never wanted him to become an actress. It was predetermined for him,” Naumaan said.
Zaviyar is making a name for himself with exceptional performances in plays like Bakhtawar and Tere Ishq Ke Naam, in spite of his father’s misgivings. It’s interesting to note that Naumaan acknowledged never giving his kid acting advice. “I never guided him because I’m not an actor at home; I’m a very ordinary person at home,” he said.
The seasoned actor also made fun of the younger generation’s dislike of working hard. “If you do the hard work yourself, that’s when your children will do it as well,” said Naumaan. “There is no shortcut to life. Many performers I have met aspire to be the next Naumaan Ijaz or anyone else, but what happened to the thirty-five years I dedicated to this business? You have to persevere through the trip to get where you’re going,” he said.
The Ahsas star also declared how much he detested the attraction of being an “overnight sensation.” There is no such thing as a shortcut, he said. You must be patient and put in the necessary effort. Anything that rises swiftly also falls swiftly. What I have observed is this.” In typical Naumaan Ijaz style, he offered these pearls of wisdom with a touch of humor and gravitas, reminding everyone that there are no fast cuts to success in the entertainment business.
