Ahsan Khan, a well-known actor and host from Pakistan, talked candidly about his experience hosting Ramadan transmissions and emphasized the importance of the experience for his religious education and spiritual development.
Speaking with Hafiz Ahmed recently, Ahsan stated that he feels he has the right to examine the content he shows viewers during this holy month because he hosts Ramazan transmissions. He emphasized how he viewed this practice as a chance to engage in ongoing learning as well as to strengthen his connection to his religion.
Ahsan said, “I’m learning myself,” in light of her nine years of co-hosting programs with prominent Islamic academics. He emphasized how these exchanges enable him to pursue knowledge and significantly better his life. “There have been great improvements in my life due to my sitting with them,” he stated.
The actor went on, “We have questions to ask based on a script. All I do is pose inquiries. Furthermore, it is my prerogative to ask questions as a student and a Muslim.” Ahsan made the point that asking questions is a useful strategy for both individual and group development. The fact that I have scholars in front of me and I don’t question them—who will take this away from me immediately? And both my audience and I gain from such inquiries,” he continued.
Ahsan discussed the importance of his performance during Ramadan, saying, “Being on stage for six hours during Ramadan, live, is such a huge deal for me.” I invoke the name of God multiple times, pronounce the name of the Prophet [PBUH] with my mouth, recite the Durood and Ayats, and impart knowledge to others.” He emphasized that choosing to host Ramazan transmissions is a choice that is a part of God’s plan rather than just his doing.
With a statement that “God has written this in my fate,” Ahsan accepted the experience’s spiritual significance. We think that God has to move even a leaf in order for it to move. God made this choice; it is not my work.” He conveyed his appreciation for being present throughout Ramadan, hearing the Quran, hearing the Azaan, and taking part in spiritual pursuits that enhance the month-long celebration of the holy month. He remarked, “It’s written in my destiny that every Ramazan, I am live listening to the Quran, the Azaan is summoned in front of me, a person like me would sing Naats…Everybody has their own fate and destiny.”
Ahsan is still a key figure in the Ramazan teachings, and his commitment to studying, exploring, and disseminating spiritual knowledge shows a deep concern for his own development as well as the spiritual welfare of those he speaks to.
