Let’s picture an everyday occurrence. The alarm is going off but you’re just NOT READY to get up from the warm, comfy bed. But, the boss is gonna get super flustered if they can’t have their VIP document on time. Yeah, that’s motive enough. But, what really kick starts your day? Is it an angry boss or a warm cup of freshly brewed black coffee?
Okay. I’m gonna be real with you guys. Coffee has had a pretty bad reputation since I was a kid. Don’t drink black coffee, it’ll darken you complexion. Or, if you drink coffee, you’ll definitely never be able to sleep soundly again. Pffft. Good thing I just let it in one ear and out the other. Coffee is completely FINE. In fact, research studies have shown that it can be useful and beneficial if consumed in a proper amount. Like I said, not too much and not too less. We need everything to be “just right”. Well, Goldilocks, I’m sharing some tips that you need to keep in mind while making yourself a cup of warm coffee.
Coffee is a FAT burner? Yes, Please!
People who are struggling to maintain a balanced and healthy weight often proclaim that they’ve left coffee. So, they’ve abandoned this delectable drink for low-cal, low-carb diets… sounds about right, doesn’t it? But, research doesn’t really show this. In fact, according to various studies, coffee (because it contains caffeine) is actually a fat-burning supplement. Other studies indicate that caffeine can specifically increase fat burning by as much as 10% in obese individuals and 29% in lean people. WOW. Pass the flask here!
Improve Physical Performance
For those of you who like to hit the gym routinely, this one is for YOU. Apparently, coffee DRASTICALLY improves your physical action. Furthermore, since caffeine increases epinephrine (adrenaline) levels in your blood. So, this prepares your body for intense physical exertion. Therefore, it makes sense to have a strong cup of coffee about half an hour before you head to the gym.
Lowering Your Risk of Diabetes
Yup. The ill-reputed disease that literally leaves no one unscathed. But, just to be clear, we’re talking about TYPE 2 diabetes here. Although observers don’t know why, coffee drinkers have a significantly reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. GO COFFEE. Also, investigation shows that people who drink the most coffee have a 23–50% lower risk of getting this disease. Moreover, one study showed a reduction as high as 67%. IT’s AMAZING!!!
No More Liver Problems
Several common diseases primarily affect the liver, including hepatitis and fatty liver disease.
This can lead to cirrhosis, in which your liver is largely replaced by scar tissue. Just reading about it makes it sound VERY PAINFUL. However, studies show that coffee may protect against cirrhosis. Again, WOW! In fact, people who drink 4 or more cups per day have up to an 80% lower risk of contacting such illnesses. I’m impressed. Next time, I’ll stop by 7 cups for some coffee.
Good For YOUUUU
I’m not gonna lie. There are some benefits that I didn’t even know about. And, I’m more than happy to share you with you guys as well. So, here it goes. In a Harvard study published in 2011, women who drank 4 or more cups per day had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed. Thank God I found this out sooner. I was just about to cut coffee from my diet. Another study found that those who drank 4 or more cups per day were 53% less likely to die by suicide. Yeah. Remind me NEVER to NOT DRINK coffee.

Currently, I am a student of Fatima Jinnah Women University. With a burning passion for psychology, words, and dreams, I decided to abandon medical studies for humanities. These days, when I’m not listening to ballads, watching movies, or sitting down with a good novel, I am rigorously studying Hangul (Korean language) to satisfy my obsession for BTS and K dramas. I’m a thinking introvert and INFJ personality. Therefore, I like ‘me time’. My articles typically resonate with psychological well-being advice.
