Iranian President Visits Pakistan to Boost Ties
ISLAMABAD – Iran’s President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Pakistan on his first official visit. He is leading a high-level delegation that includes Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and other top officials, according to the Foreign Office.
During his visit, President Pezeshkian will meet Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and hold important talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Both countries are expected to discuss ways to strengthen their friendly relations.
This visit comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s trip to Iran on May 26, 2025. Officials believe this new visit will further improve cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
Interior Minister’s Earlier Meeting in Tehran
Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met President Pezeshkian in Tehran, Iran’s capital. During the meeting, Naqvi gave a message of goodwill from Prime Minister Sharif to the Iranian leadership. He also congratulated the Iranian people on what he called a “historic victory against Zionist aggression.”
Naqvi said that Pakistan strongly condemned Israeli attacks and supported Iran’s right to defend itself.
In response, President Pezeshkian said Muslim leaders must see the threats coming from the Zionist regime and fight them by promoting unity among Muslim countries.
