Building Collapse During Karachi Factory Fire Leaves Several Injured

Karachi – Panic erupted in New Karachi’s Industrial Area, Sector 8-A, on Monday when a factory building suddenly collapsed amid a raging fire. Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion as the structure caved in, sparking fears that firefighters and rescue personnel might be trapped under the debris.

At least three people were pulled out injured, while initial reports suggested that the collapse left a total of five people, including a cameraman, hurt. The accident occurred while rescue teams were actively battling the intense blaze, with reporter Afzal Khan providing a live update at the time of the collapse.

Witnesses said several firefighters were dangerously close to the building when it gave way. However, Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan later assured that no additional personnel are believed to be trapped under the rubble.

In response to the collapse, heavy contingents of police, Rangers, and rescue teams rushed to the scene to continue search and relief operations. Fire brigade officials confirmed that the fire began on the ground floor before quickly spreading to the upper levels. Over 15 fire tenders and a snorkel were deployed to control the blaze.

Authorities emphasized that no workers were inside the factory at the time, and, fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Police and Rangers have urged residents to avoid the area to ensure safety and prevent further casualties.
