KSE-100 Surges Past 165,000 as Gold Hits Historic High

Karachi — The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its bullish rally on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index climbing 1,296.48 points, or 0.79%, to 165,144.16 at 10:14 AM. The market had closed a day earlier at 163,847.68 points.

Market watchers say the rally is being fueled by strong institutional buying. Analysts at Topline Securities Ltd. noted that inflows from major investors and renewed confidence in the market have lifted sentiment to record levels.

Meanwhile, gold prices in Pakistan also set a new record on Monday. According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs5,900 per tola, reaching Rs403,600 — crossing the Rs400,000 mark for the first time in history. The rate for 10 grams rose by Rs5,059, settling at Rs346,022.

The surge in domestic gold rates follows a sharp upward trend in the international bullion market, further tightening pressure on local buyers.
