A westerly system that is forecast to hit western regions on May 10 and bring with it rainy spells on Saturday, May 11, is likely to cause rain-dust storms and thunderstorms this weekend in the higher sections of the country, where many areas are experiencing exceptionally hot weather conditions.
However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated on Tuesday that daytime temperatures would rise due to high pressure in the upper atmosphere throughout much of the nation, especially in the southern portion.
The majority of the country is experiencing continental air, and hot, dry weather is mostly predicted, which will progressively raise the temperature in plain areas.
Yesterday, the highest recorded maximum temperature was 46°C in Jacobabad and 25°C in Mohenjo Daro and Dadu.
A weather analyst also forecasted that the port city will experience a heatwave for the duration of the week, with temperatures ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of an additional 40 degrees this weekend.
