UNITED NATIONS — Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s continued military aggression in Syria, calling for an immediate end to all violations of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Delivering a national statement at a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) briefing on the Syrian conflict, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, described the Israeli actions as “irresponsible, dangerous, and deliberately destabilizing.”
Ambassador Ahmad expressed serious concern over the repeated Israeli airstrikes across Syrian territory, warning that such actions threaten regional and global peace. “We are witnessing a deeply troubling pattern: continued, unprovoked Israeli military aggression; repeated violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement; an illegal military presence in the Area of Separation; and open declarations of indefinite occupation,” he told the 15-member Council.
He noted that Israel’s recent strikes have hit multiple locations, including civilian infrastructure and urban centers, resulting in casualties and destruction. Pakistan stressed that these acts violate international law and jeopardize Syria’s efforts toward political stability and national reconciliation.
In a previous UNSC session in April, Pakistan had also condemned Israel’s attacks as flagrant breaches of international norms.
Ambassador Ahmad urged the Security Council to take urgent action to prevent further escalation and uphold Syria’s sovereignty in line with the UN Charter.
