PPP Criticizes Speaker's Move to Remove Members

PPP (Pakistan People’s Party) leader Nadeem Afzal Chan said in an interview that the current government cannot work without PPP. “How can you remove us?” he asked.

He also said that the Chief Minister of Punjab already acts like the Prime Minister, so what more does she want?

Talking about the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly trying to remove some members, he said this is not a democratic action. “It’s an insult to the people. The Speaker should cancel this decision,” he said.

He added that arguments and disagreements happen in politics, but things should not go too far.

PPP Says Removing Their Party from Government Is Wrong

Afzal Chan said maybe Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed took this step because he is weak in the party or has a poor relationship with the Chief Minister and her team.

He also said that PML-N (another political party) has done worse things in the past, but never removed members like this.

When asked about the Punjab Chief Minister’s performance, he said he is mostly satisfied but has a few concerns. He suggested that the government should spend more money on public services like Rescue 1122, rather than spending on promoting itself.

Finally, he said Nawaz Sharif should work for peace and unity. “If he doesn’t, history will not forgive him,” he warned.
