PTA Urges Citizens to Strengthen Online Passwords

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued fresh guidelines urging citizens to adopt stronger online security practices by creating robust passwords.

In a statement, the authority stressed that a strong password is the first line of defense in the digital world, protecting users from cyber threats and safeguarding personal data.

According to the PTA, complex passwords are particularly vital for financial services and email accounts. Users have been advised to enable two-factor authentication and update their passwords regularly to enhance protection.

The authority also warned against reusing the same password across multiple platforms or relying on weak credentials such as dictionary words and dates of birth.

To ensure maximum security, the PTA recommended that citizens combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters when setting up their passwords.
