Rain and Flood Warning Issued for Many Areas
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that heavy rain could cause flooding in streams and drains in several areas, including:
Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan
Islamabad/Rawalpindi and D.G. Khan
Kashmir
Many districts in Balochistan, such as Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Sibi, Loralai, Zhob, Qalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur, and Turbat.
Landslide Risk
Heavy rain might also cause landslides in some hilly areas like KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Murree, Galliyat, and Kashmir. This could block roads and cause traffic problems.
Flooding in Cities
Low-lying areas in cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar may also face flooding due to heavy rain.
Rain and Storms Expected
Islamabad and nearby areas may get heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms. The Potohar region and some northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan will also likely get heavy rain.
Light Rain in Karachi
Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh might get light rain or drizzle.
